Chris Cornwell
has a career that spans 25 years during which time he has served as both Production Designer and Art Director for a number of feature films and television projects.
From 2017 to 2019, Chris signed on as an Art Director for two seasons of the high profile Starz TV series, Outlander. Shot entirely on location in Scotland, the series depicts late 1700's colonial America during these seasons. The show is highly styled with large builds on both stage and location. Early 2017, Cornwell worked with the Director Lee Krieger to Design the TV pilot for the series, Life Sentence. Cornwell utilized his vast experience of shooting in Georgia to seek out the perfect locations for the show. 2015 saw Cornwell finishing work on the feature Fist Fight with New Line Cinema, starring Ice Cube and Charlie Day with Richie Keen in the Director's chair. Prior to that he Designed the Screen Gems feature When The Bough Breaks, Directed by Jon Cassar. In 2014, Cornwell Production Designed the TV pilot Stalker for NBC and Kevin Williamson. Cornwell served as Production Designer for Tim Story on Universal's Ride Along 2 starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube and was the Designer on the first Ride Along as well. In 2013 Cornwell Designed Sony's The Wedding Ringer Directed by Jeremy Garelick. He also Designed Screen Gems Think Like a Man & Think Like a Man Too. Other recent films include the Screen Gems film No Good Deed with Taraji P. Henson and Idris Elba and Battle of the Year also for Screen Gems starring Chris Brown and Josh Holloway. Prior to these films Cornwell designed the feature film Cursed and the television series Glory Days and Wasteland for creator Kevin Williamson. As Art Director, Cornwell worked on a number of box office hits including Footloose, The Ides of March, The Roommate, Burlesque, Takers, Death at a Funeral, Armored, Obsessed, Quarantine, Prom Night, Gone Baby Gone, Vacancy, Crank, Stick It, The Dukes of Hazzard, 13 Going on 30, Daddy Day Care, America's Sweethearts, Driven, Flick, Lost Souls, Instinct, Where's Marlowe?, A Smile Like Yours, House Arrest, Black Sheep, Unstrung Heroes and While You Were Sleeping. For television, he provided Art Direction for Deep Red, Curacao, Cooperstown, Seduction: Three Tales from the Inner Sanctum, The Lounge People, Wildflower and Just Say Julie. Chris got his start in the world of Art Direction as an assistant working on such films as Wedlock, Phenomenon, Teaching Mrs. Tingle and The Kid. |
